* Highlight your career objective within 2/3 lines. While doing so be focused on your objective keeping in line with your qualification and experience. The statement should be strong enough to impress upon an employer.

* Employer does not have much time to go through a long resume. Avoid long and descriptive irrelevant resume. Be concise and emphasize on your qualification, experience and personal traits.

* Write down your experience in a way that relates to the skills the employer is looking for. To arouse the interest of the employer highlight your accomplishments in an absolute clear and simple terms.

* As the present employers search for resumes in computer database that matches the keyword you should use the keyword that relates to the category of job you are applying for such as Marketing, Accounts etc.

* Highlight the special initiatives or drives you have taken in your previous job and its beneficial affect on company’s achievement or growth.

* Quantify your achievement in percentage or unit Taka or in numbers so that the incumbent can judge your capability. Don’t just make a general statement that you have contributed significantly to company’s growth.

* Relate your personal traits to your achievement. Instead of mentioning you are highly ‘efficient’ mention the success stories in your working field. For instance “my sales achievement has grown by 15% every year over the last 5 years”. For a new comer in the job mention about your extra-curricular activities and your accomplishments in addition to your academic excellence.

* Be honest and truthful in your CV writing. Never provide any false information.

* Never mention your current salary in the résumé. You will mention this only during the time of interview and when asked for.
